12 MarUCSI rises in QS world subject rankings, ranks 32nd for Performing Arts
KUALA LUMPUR: UCSI University made the top 500 for eight subjects in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025 exercise, improving 60% from last year.
Widely recognised as one of Asia’s best universities for music, UCSI led the way again in Performing Arts, making a 10-spot climb to place 32nd in the world.
UCSI is ranked in the top 100 for Hospitality and Leisure Management. Other notable rankings include Art and Design (top 150); Petroleum Engineering (top 150); Business and Management Studies (top 250); and Medicine (top 600).
UCSI is also ranked for the first time in Chemical Engineering (top 450); Electrical and Electronic Engineering (top 500); and Computer Science and Information Systems (top 500).
“I’m encouraged to note that UCSI is making good progress, particularly in science-based subjects that are crucial in the 4IR,” said UCSI vice-chancellor Prof Emerita Datuk Dr Siti Hamisah Tapsir.
“I would like to thank all UCSI students, staff, industry partners and stakeholders for their continuous efforts. This encouraging result would not be possible without them.
“We want to be at the forefront of knowledge and innovation and we will do more in the areas of research, industry partnership and community engagement.”
In broad subject rankings, UCSI is ranked 78th for Arts and Humanities, 132nd for Social Sciences and Management and 223rd for Engineering and Technology.
Classified in the world’s top 1% in the QS World University Rankings 2025 by its top 265 ranking, UCSI is one of Asia’s foremost private universities.
